How To Care For Your Scarf

 care-of-your-scarf.jpg
Basic Care:
Beau Monde Organics scarves are made of untreated organic cotton.  Handle with gentle care, same as silks, batistes, linens or any delicate natural fabric. Avoid contact with abrasive or highly textured surfaces, as this may cause damage to fabric or prints. Hand wash gently in cold water. Iron if needed with steam iron (or mist & dry iron) on medium-high heat.

Continue reading below for more detailed instructions.

Recommended Hand Washing: (Time: 6 minutes)
-Soak in cold water with a mild soap or handwashing detergent (eco-friendly, no phosphate brands recommended) for about 3-4 minutes. Do NOT rub or use any brushes, as this may abrade or pill the fabric, or it may damage the prints.
-If you need to remove a mark, gently squeeze suds through, or add a drop or two of the detergent directly onto the mark and soak a minute longer.  In the case of oil-based makeup, a drop of diluted grease-cutting dish detergent applied to the spot should help remove it.
-Rinse thoroughly by repeatedly dipping in rinse water, then gently squeezing under running water,
until all  soap is removed. Do NOT wring or twist, but gently squeeze out excess water.
-Lay scarf onto a large bath towel, roll scarf inside towel, then press upon the roll to extract moisture from scarf. Lay scarf flat or hang to dry. Dry cleaning or machine washing is not needed or recommended.
To Iron Your Scarf: (Time: 3 minutes)
Your scarf can be quickly and easily ironed. Untreated cotton wrinkles in a similar way to fine linen. This is an inherent feature of the fabric, and adds textural interest. Ironing smooths the surface and  increases the soft feel. Recommended method: press on medium-high to high heat, using steam
iron or mist with water and dry iron. Use care to iron along fold that divides front and back.
